2 – This year marks GIGABYTE’s 40th anniversary. How does it feel to be in the industry for so long? How did the tech ecosystem change in the last 40 years and what part did GIGABYTE play in this change?

Reaching its 40th anniversary is not only a major milestone for GIGABYTE, but also a responsibility to continue driving technological innovation. Over the past four decades, the technology industry has evolved dramatically — from the era of desktop computing to gaming, cloud computing, mobile devices, high-performance AI systems, and now the rapid expansion of the AI era. Throughout these changes, GIGABYTE has continuously evolved alongside the industry.

Starting from motherboards, GIGABYTE has gradually expanded into graphics cards, laptops, monitors, servers, AI solutions, and complete ecosystem integration. Whether through high-performance gaming products, the AORUS brand, or more recent AI computing and integrated solutions, GIGABYTE’s goal has always been to help drive the industry forward.

One of the key foundations behind GIGABYTE’s long-term growth is our stable and experienced team. From engineering and manufacturing to sales and marketing, every team member has played an important role in the company’s development. Many employees have grown alongside the company for decades, and this strong culture and accumulated experience continue to be one of GIGABYTE’s greatest competitive strengths.

3 – Personally, I have been working with GIGABYTE for the last 20 years and I can say it’s been quite a ride. What I saw is a company that evolves constantly, but always keeps its core values. Was it challenging to go from a company focused primarily on motherboard production to a company that tries to have a positive impact on most areas of daily life?

Of course, the transformation was challenging, but it was also essential. The technology industry evolves rapidly, and companies must continuously adapt to remain competitive. What allowed GIGABYTE to successfully navigate these changes was our ability to evolve while staying committed to our core values: innovation, engineering excellence, quality, and user trust.

While motherboards remain a key foundation of our business, user expectations today extend far beyond individual components. Consumers increasingly look for complete and integrated experiences, which is why GIGABYTE has expanded into gaming ecosystems, creator-focused products, AI computing, displays, enterprise solutions, and more recently, Complete Assembled PCs.

Our vision today is to provide not only high-performance hardware, but also seamless and reliable solutions that can support users across gaming, creativity, productivity, and AI applications. Through deeper ecosystem integration, we aim to deliver a more complete technology experience for both consumers and professionals.

4 – What do you think differentiates GIGABYTE from other big Taiwanese hardware companies? What is the secret for being in the business for 40 years and continuing to grow every year, even in challenging times like this?

I believe one of GIGABYTE’s biggest strengths is our engineering culture. We are deeply focused on product quality, long-term reliability, and practical innovation.

At the same time, we are very close to our users and enthusiast communities. We listen carefully to gamers, creators, overclockers, system builders, and enterprise customers. Many of our technologies and product improvements come directly from user feedback.

Another important factor is adaptability. The market changes constantly, and successful companies must be willing to invest in future technologies before they become mainstream. We have continuously expanded our capabilities, from gaming ecosystems to AI infrastructure.

Most importantly, we never stop improving. Even after 40 years, we still approach the market with the mindset of a challenger brand.

5 – What steps did GIGABYTE take in mitigating the current DRAM crisis and ensuring a seamless product supply for the next few years?

The current memory market is indeed challenging, especially with increasing demand driven by AI, data centers, and high performance computing.

At GIGABYTE, we work very closely with our partners across the supply chain to improve forecasting, resource allocation, and long-term planning. Diversification and strong partnerships are extremely important during periods like this.

We also focus heavily on platform optimization and validation to ensure users receive the best performance and compatibility regardless of market conditions.

Looking forward, I believe the pressure on memory supply will remain strong as AI adoption continues to accelerate globally. However, the industry is also investing aggressively in expanding production capacity and next generation memory technologies. Over time, the ecosystem will gradually become more balanced.

6 – You have been personally involved in some of my favourite parts of GIGABYTE history, including the rise of the AORUS brand and the launch of the AI TOP ecosystem. How did this ecosystem evolve in the last 2 years? What was the market response?

The AI TOP ecosystem represents one of the most exciting transformations in our company’s history. Two years ago, many people still viewed AI as something limited to cloud providers and enterprise-scale infrastructure. We believed there would also be strong demand for local AI computing solutions that provide privacy, flexibility, ownership, and lower long-term operational costs.

That vision led to the development of our “Train Your Own AI on Your Desk” concept. Since launch, the ecosystem has evolved significantly. Today, users can build powerful local AI systems using GIGABYTE motherboards, graphics cards, SSDs, power supplies, and optimized software tools.

The market response has been extremely encouraging. We are seeing interest not only from enthusiasts and creators, but also from developers, researchers, small businesses, and educational institutions. We believe local AI computing will become an important part of the future AI ecosystem.

7 – GIGABYTE was one of the first brands that offered a local AI assistant together with their notebooks – GiMATE. Do you plan to expand the functions of this solution?

Yes, absolutely. We see GiMATE as much more than a simple assistant. Our long-term vision is to create an intelligent platform that helps users interact with their devices more naturally and efficiently. As AI technology evolves, we will continue expanding the capabilities of GiMATE, including more advanced customization, broader AI model compatibility, and deeper integration across different product categories.

We also recognize the growing interest from advanced users who want greater flexibility and control. This is an area we are actively evaluating. At the same time, we want to maintain simplicity and accessibility for first-time AI users. Balancing powerful functionality with ease of use is very important to us.

8 – AI is definitely the big thing now. Is it difficult to also focus on the more traditional segments of the consumer business, such as gaming and overclocking?

Not at all. In fact, we see AI and gaming as complementary rather than competing directions. Gaming enthusiasts have always been among the earliest adopters of high performance hardware. Many technologies developed for gaming systems also benefit AI workloads, creators, and professional applications.

Gaming remains a very important part of GIGABYTE’s identity. The AORUS brand will continue receiving strong investment and support. At the same time, AI is creating entirely new opportunities for hardware innovation. Our strategy is not to replace one segment with another, but to build technologies that can serve multiple types of users.

9 – Artificial intelligence is certainly a big step forward for humanity, but there are also unintended consequences. Do you think society will be able to benefit from AI while keeping negative effects under control?

I believe AI will become one of the most transformative technologies in human history. Like every major technological breakthrough, AI brings both opportunities and challenges. Issues such as misinformation, deepfakes, scams, and the impact on education are real concerns that society must address seriously.

However, I remain optimistic. Technology itself is neutral. The key lies in how responsibly we develop, regulate, and educate people about its use. I believe governments, educational institutions, technology companies, and users must work together to establish ethical standards and practical safeguards.

At the same time, the positive potential of AI is enormous, from healthcare and scientific research to productivity, education, and accessibility. The goal should not be to stop AI development, but to guide it responsibly.

10 – We have seen an increased GIGABYTE presence in the notebook and display markets in recent years. How important are these categories for GIGABYTE going forward?

These categories are extremely important for our long-term strategy. Users today expect complete ecosystems and seamless experiences. Displays, laptops, desktops, components, and AI solutions are increasingly interconnected.

Our OLED monitor lineup has received very strong feedback globally because users value both performance and visual quality. Similarly, our notebooks continue evolving to address the needs of gamers, creators, professionals, and AI users.

Going forward, we will continue investing in these categories while strengthening ecosystem integration across our product portfolio.
