Studiu privind arhitectura twin tower: Noctua NH-D14, Asus Triton 88, Prolimatech Megashadow si Thermalright IFX-14

A venit timpul sa ne ocupam mai serios de participantii din acest test, sa ii studiem foarte bine de la baza pina la ultima lamela, pentru a descoperi in primul rand toate punctele slabe si a vi le face cunoscute. Testele dure vor pune la grea incercare concurentii nostri si cu siguranta daca au puncte slabe ele vor iesi la suprafata.
Deci ce avem aici domnilor?. In primul rand Noctua NH-D14, ultima realizare a “magicienilor” de la Noctua, un cooler imens, cu o arhitectura extrema, coolerul pe care multa lume il astepta de ceva timp. Daca aruncam un ochi pe tabel vedem ca are cea mai mare suprafata de disipare dintre toate coolerele existente, lucru care este posibil sa il trimita direct pe “tronul” coolerelor fanless. Nu intru acum in detalii pentru ca daca aveti putina rabdare veti avea parte de “cateva” detalii si teste cu acesta “aratare infricosatoare” pentru celelalte coolere, bineinteles.
Prolimatech Megashadow nu putea lipsi din acest test, el este coolerul de intrecut in acest moment in orice test. Este un cooler complet, aduce cateva mici imbunatatiri Megahalems-ului si este nerabdator sa arate ca el este numarul unu si nimic nu poate schimba acest lucru. In acest articol il vom analiza in detaliu si vom avea chiar si o mica comparatie intre el si Megahalems.
Triton 88 este primul cooler de la Asus care mi-a atras atentia, este ceva mai extrem decat coolerele cu care ne-a obisnut Asus pana acum. Si el va fi analizat in detaliu si sunt foarte curios cum se va comporta pentru ca este destul de masiv si pe deasupra este primul cooler facut de creatorii seriei Rampage ce dispune de sase heatpipe-uri.
Vechea noastra cunostinta, Thermalright IFX-14 este aici pentru a infrunta teste deosebit de dure si poate ca isi va recapata onoarea pierduta in testele pe socket 775. Vom vedea cum se va comporta in cazul TDP-ul urias al unui Nehalem puternic overclockat.

Thank you, if you look at Copper paste print(MX-3), the layer is too thick. At that TDP any problems with TIM layer afects temperature very much. Noctua TIM layer is very good (in core area) because of its perfect base and high pressure retention sistem.
Liquid Pro have superhigh thermal conductivity and maximize heat transfer from ihs to base (even in bad conditions such as low pressure or bad base), and the coolers can perform at full potential.

Jhon is right.
I saw the Thermalright “review” done by Bit-tech and it was nothing else but a disgrace. They wrote 3 pages about it and said it was crap. I didn’t saw info on the test systems, the case that was used for the testing, the methodology of testing. Simply put Bit-tech did an unprofessional job reviewing the cooler. They are doing a very unprofessional job with their case reviews.
Addendum: The Thermalright cooler in the Bit-tech “review” is the Venomous X.
Can we get a professional to translate this to english? This is just awesome!

Freezer Extreme nu se afla printre coolerele foarte performante deci nu avea ce cauta in acest articol.

procesoarele amd au probleme majore la raportarea temperaturii si in al doilea rand nu se pot compara cu nehalem in privinta caldurii generate. Unul din motivele pentru care am inclus un Q6600 in test este acela de a observa diferenta dintre TDp-uri (in conditii de overclocking) si a putea trage o concluzie in privinta alrgerii celui mai bun cpu pentru testat coolere.
Pe viitor este posibil sa fac o comparatie intre precesoare, la voltaj fix (1.6v sa zicem,)sa vedem ce caldura genereaza fiecare, dar trebuie instalat si un senzor de temperatura tocmai pentru ca in snzorii procesorului nu putem avea 100% incredere.

am si eu o intrebare! am o carcasa antec 1200 si memorii kingston ,modelul cu radiator inalt! daca cumpar NOCTUA NH-D14 ce sanse sunt sa nu-l pot monta?

nu stiam de ce nu a mai aparut nici un articol de ceva vreme pe la voi pe site dar acum imi este foarte clar.
am luat si eu prin ian un nh 14 si eram uimit de diferentele de temperatura pe care le posta lumea pe net, 25c cand ambient este 20(I7 920) iar eu nu obtin mai putin de 35 idile nici daca stau in cap dar m-am linistit acum.

I’ll begin this article with an euphemism.Things have been pretty stale in the air cooling arena for quite some time now and the newcomers haven’t really managed to shadow the regular performers in this area.In our previous case studies, among other things, we stated that air cooling had possibly reached a hard limit, mainly because the differences between our top performers were minimal at best. So we had to come up with a special methodology, meant to further differentiate the coolers, in order to establish a clear hierarchy that would help our readers make an informed decision, despite the lack of any strong new contenders in this otherwise quiet area.
We have a Megahalems that’s made quite an impression and set itself apart as being one of the most complete cooling solutions available out there, but didn’t really manage to take a decisive lead in the race against other coolers. Its cooling performance under the most extreme conditions (fanless and extreme tdp/cfm) is not really its speciality. We have a very strong performers in the Z600, fanless and low RPM. Unfortunately, once the TPM rises, its performance begins to falter.
We have a True Copper that’s been a dominant force in the “extreme tdp/cfm” ranking, but only in its supermodded state and in circumstances that the average user would find almost impossible to replicate. This makes it the perfect choice for the “excentric” crowd out there. We would love to see a cooler of True Copper’s caliber under more “humane” circumstances and without all the hardships of modding. I don’t think we’re gonna see such a thing in the near future, but I’ve done my job and expressed my wishes.
Then, we have a Mugen 2 that performs admirably both fanless/low rpm and high rpm as well, but could never achieve greatness, mainly due to its shoddy build quality.
I wish I had the time to do the whole article, but that’s kinda like translating a book 🙂

Nu am gasit nici o referinta vis-a-vis de montajul coolerului pe Noctua. Eu le-am montat sa scoata aer dinspre radiator spre exhaust-ul carcasei. Pe default, coolerele sunt montate exact invers. Oare gresesc?
